From Tom:Aye yi yi, where to start. Mom asksed me one day where I was going to college. I said I wasn't going and she said "Oh yes you are!" and that's how I wound up at the University of Tulsa. God Bless Mom. There I met my beautiful bride, Vera, still the best thing that ever happened to me! Graduated in 1969, couldn't get a job due to my 1A draft status so hung out for the summer and got drafted in September, 1969. As a result of some extraordinary luck spent 2 years in the USA in spite of my 11B MOS. Out of the army in August, 1971 and entered OSU working on my PhD in Physiology and Pharmacology which I finished in June, 1976. Then 5 years in the University of Texas medical school system doing research, writing grants, teaching medical students etc. Along the way we were fourtnate to have two special and lovely daughters, Kerri and Sarah. Accepted a job near Philadelphia with Wyeth-Ayerst Research (pharmaceutical company) where I stayed for 18 years. Then (Vera claims I had my midlife crisis) I left Wyeth to join Johnson and Johnson where I worked for 12 years. Altogether 30 years of research and development on drugs to treat disorders of the central nervous system. Retired about 6 years ago and am now doing all the things (e.g fishing, hunting, cooking, reading, traveling etc.) I put on the back burner while I was working. As happy now as I've ever been. Looking forward to seeing you all again.
